It was just weeks ago that Chirac was quoted as saying that a nuclear Iran would not be a terrible thing. So if Chirac is not too bothered about Iran, why the French troops in Lebanon? To stop the Iranian proxy we know as Hezbollah? Apparently not. You can be sure that if Chirac will obtain “Iranian protection” for his troops, they will not put up any kind of resistance against Hezbollah.
